Navigators™ Sample Classroom Schedule

6:00-8:30 Arrival
As children arrive, they are free to explore a limited number of learning centers specified by the teacher. Daily attendance is implemented independently to encourage the child's responsibility.
8:30-10:00 AM Circle 1
This first Circle time of the morning focuses on the daily learning opportunities for that day.

Navigating through Learning
Children have the opportunity to explore and interact with materials in the learning centers. Centers are designed to ignite their curiosity in pre-reading and pre-math activities. Children have experiences with journal writing during this block of time.

Snack Time

10:00-10:30 Special Interest Areas
The teacher and children have the opportunity to explore and interact with the materials in the Imagination Island™, Laboratory Lagoon™, Picture Paradise™, and Nature's Nook™.
10:30-12:30 AM Circle 2 and Small Group Breakout Learning
This second Circle time of the morning focuses on the special program features that enhance the learning in areas of language development (Sign and Spanish), citizenship, social independence and self-direction
12:30-1:00 Lunch

Playground
Children have the opportunity to exercise and develop their large muscles while incorporating activities that take the classroom to the outdoors.

1:00-3:00

PM Circle Time
This Circle Time, provides an opportunity for children to evaluate their learning of the day and goals for the upcoming days. Children work in small groups and one-on-one with the teacher for specific enrichment in skill areas.

Snack Time

3:00-6:30 Special Interest Areas
Children have the opportunity to explore and interact with materials in the Nature's Nook™, Laboratory Lagoon™, Picture Paradise™, and Imagination Island™.
4:00-6:00 Navigator's Destiny
Another chance for children to explore and interact with materials in the learning centers. All materials are reflective of the thematic focus, reflected in the individualized math, reading, science and social science materials.

Wrap-up
As the day draws to a close, the children will interact with toys, games, books and materials that are specified by the teacher.
