Challengers™ (School Agers)

divider

During the elementary school years, children are faced with many challenges, both educational and social. We can help children face these challenges with confidence and skill. Our after school program combines freedom and structure, providing both self-guided exploration and research-based instruction for your child. These after school adventures feature fun yet educational activities, including arts and crafts, music, sports, field trips, and more. Of course, this also includes some quiet time to do homework. It's a safe environment for children to challenge themselves.

Children's Learning Adventure™ will entice your child to challenge their own personal uniqueness in environments such as Laboratory Lagoon™, Nature's Nook™ and Picture Paradise™. Along with these unique environments, the Challengers™ program utilizes the After School Jungle™ area for developing computer and tech skills, Game Room for developing social skills, and Reading Reef™ to master reading skills. Planned, themed adventures enhance life skills, and often involve the outside world, including parents and the community. Summer adventures expand to incorporate age-appropriate adventures specifically correlated to the child's intrinsic interests.

The Challengers™ program includes:

  • Curriculum designed to encourage children to challenge themselves, as a group and individually, in math, science, art, drama, and physical development both indoors and outdoors
  • Special interest areas, including Laboratory Lagoon™, Nature's Nook™, The Reading Reef™ and Picture Paradise™
  • Learning centers, such as a Computer Lab for enhancement of grade level activities, a Game Room for individual and group game activities, and other "adventuresome" areas to stimulate creativity and provide down time before and after school
  • Focus on social development through school, home, and community involvement and current societal challenges for the school-age child
  • Long term projects to develop goal setting, cooperative opportunities, and pride in work
  • Personal development and growth through languages, journal writing, and character development activities
  • Parent involvement in the center and out in the community
  • Summer Adventure Programs to create a fun and memorable summer season while staying mentally active and preparing for the next school year
  • Respectful, observant teachers to facilitate child interactions and learning
